Ponderings 01.02.2008

Well, here we are
on Christmas.
2008 is here and it's an even year. Don't know why I like them even, but maybe it has something to do with adding and subtracting, since I have to do that a lot with appraisals. Just easier to figure out. Plus "even" just sounds better than "odd."

I've been reflecting on what I want to focus on in 2008. Lots of thinking. Not to sound selfish, but I want to think more about me. Usually I put everyone else first and then I melt down, when I get overwhelmed. Sometimes the meltdown is internal and no one else knows about it. I just put on the "Happy Face" and proceed. I don't want to do that anymore. I want to be true. I also want to renew. I would like to make time for the things that I enjoy. Time for me. So, as selfish as that may sound, that's what I may focus on during this EVEN year.

I don't usually make resolutions. Sometimes I set goals - more attainable than resolutions. Goals for this EVEN year? (Numeric order is NOT in order of importance!)

#1 - Make exercise a part of life. I view it as a chore, as drudgery. So I would like to find other things that I enjoy. I love to dance. I need to find some dance exercise DVDs and do that at home, rather than always going to the gym. I want to rotate each day, not always doing cardio. I get so tired of just staying in one place.

#2 - Proceed with the doctor, with regard to my knee. One of the reasons that my exercise is limited, is because my options are limited with my knee. I need to seriously consider having my knee replaced.

#3 - Creative Outlet - Now that the holidays are over, I want to find ways to enjoy my creative side. I have tons of projects that I can work on. I would also like to start doing some classes. Make up some stuff on my own and offer it to friends and family. I don't know if I truly want to make a business out of this. Just don't think that I would enjoy it as much. So we'll see. This is one to ponder during this EVEN year!

#4 - Spiritual side of Me - I have neglected this. I have pushed away what has always been my foundation. I guess I could say that I've been angry. I can't understand why God would allow the things that He's allowed. I feel empty and numb. I want to feel alive again. This is more of a prayer request. Lord - drop it all in my lap. Show me where, when, how, why, what... I know the answers, but they're not enough anymore.

Have a FABulous day!

Kate & Jeff's Wedding

Well, it's over. Amazing day! My little sister is married and is a step mom to 2 boys. Kate looked beautiful and the girls were over the top! It was just a great day - can't say anything more.

I'm going to try blogging a bit more, more of it aimed toward the journey that I believe that I'm on. I sense that the Lord and I have some things to deal with. Not sure what everything will look like when the journey reaches its next stop. But I am sensing the need to make some changes. I may have to read Hind's Feet in High Places again. While I'm not afraid, I think that little Much-Afraid and I have some similarities.

So - I will attempt to blog and will attempt to even include some of my crafting, as the holidays get here.

Have a FABulous day!

Loving the '70s

I've discovered that my AOL account will let me access XM radio. Right now I am listening to the '70s. All hits. No commercials. Gotta dig it! Listened to "Instant Replay" by Dan Hartman. Now it "Devil Woman" by Cliff Richard. Barry White, Carpenters, you name it. I LOVE '70s music.

I've been trying to take a photo each day. Problem is, I'm not putting them anywhere. So I'm going to try and insert them into my blog everyday. I would like to blog daily. Isn't this the cutest girl? This was my Monday 03/12/2007 photo. She got this cute shirt (I call it a dress) and she looks so cute in it. My girls are so darling and I love them very much. I love their dad, too!
Have a FABulous day!

Bad Blogger

It's been over 2 months since I've blogged. But no one reads it, so I guess it really doesn't matter.

I've been watching American Idol this year. it just doesn't hold a candle to last year. There aren't even 4 people that I would be excited to see in the final. There were so many that I enjoyed at this point the last 2 years. So...since it takes up 3 night during the week, I'm going to use my time in other ways. Just made that decision today.
I AM loving my Taylor Hicks CD. Listen to it while working out and while driving in the car. Can't get enough! Of course, I skip the slower stuff.
Sock Hop tonight. Always a fun time for all. Only have 1 kid going this year. I'll post some photos. Can't resist one of my girls in a poodle skirt!

I LOVE making Cards!!!

Here is one of my favorites. I love this
type of layout of a card. I can't make enough.

I could make it in any type of paper and with any embellies. Can't figure out why I keep going back to this template.

I really like making cards. I haven't done a scrap page in months because it requires too much thinking. But I can go downstairs, into my Lair and make cards like crazy. Now I just need to get out and sell them. Finding a few clients that like my stuff would be great, too.

Here's another one - same template, different theme. See how cute they are! This is a great baby card.

let me know what you think.

Another Week To Go

Well...a week from Monday and the girls return to school. Not sure if I'm ready. I enjoy the lazy days of summer. They are just growing up too fast. But I must say that I will not miss the arguing. A Jr High-er in the house has changed the sister dynamics. Need I say more...

I find myself wishing that we were back in San Diego. It was an awesome vacation, so relaxing. I loved sitting on the balcony, having my glass of wine and watching the people walk down the boardwalk, while dh and the girls played badminton. Such the life...

Eventually I want to share my heart here. But I haven't worked up my courage. Still afraid to say something that will come back to haunt me from cyberspace. I'm sure the words will come someday.

Have a loverly day out there - enjoy summer - kiss your kids and spouse - and thank the Lord for one more day.

Great Vacation

My First Blog

Amazing, I'm actually doing this. Not sure why. Don't think anyone will want to read what I have to say. But maybe - in some small way - it will be cathartic for me to get out what's inside.

So, Blog-self, stay posted, as I begin this new journey.

Cristal's FABulous Life!!
